Born in Stockton, CA on Feb. 2, 1900. Bessie was the daughter of landscape painter, Richard DeTreville. Like her father, she signed her paintings simply "DeTreville"; however, she painted no landscapes and limited her artwork to china painting and floral still lifes, mostly roses. She died in Oakland, CA on Oct. 27, 1987.
