| Edward Walter Kress was born in Ohio on Feb. 28, 1894. Kress studied at the University of Pennsylvania. He then worked in Denver, CO for a few years before moving to Oakland, CA in the 1920s. He died in Santa Clara, CA on Sept. 3, 1965. Chinatown genre was the subject of many of his watercolors.
