| Stella M. Rothchild was born in California in June 1872. Stella was the wife of Edward Sidney Rothchild. While living at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco in 1898-1903, Mrs. Rothchild painted miniatures on ivory of the local elite. By 1930 she was living in New York City.
