| | Born in England on Dec. 20, 1872. Sarah Jessop came to southern California in 1890 and settled in La Jolla. In 1893 she wed Fred T. Scripps. For many years she was active in the social scene and was an ardent flower raiser. She was also an amateur painter and a pupil of Alfred Mitchell. Mrs. Scripps died at her home in Pacific Beach, CA on Sept. 2, 1954.
