The director of the Goodman Theater in Chicago from 1924 to 1930, Thomas Stevens was a mural painter and etcher. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League in New York and in London with Frank Brangwyn and in Madrid with Joaquin Sorolla.
