William Brock (1874-1953)
Born at St. John’s Wood, London in 1874, one of the eight children of Sir Thomas Brock (1847-1922), sculptor, and his wife Mary Hannah, only child of Richard Sumner; Thomas was famous for his statue of Queen Victoria, fronting Buckingham Palace. William studied art at the Royal Academy Schools and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Landscape and animal painter. Exhibited at the Royal Academy 1897-1914 ‘An Orchard Corner in Somersetshire’ 1897 and ‘ (showing 500 of 883 characters). |
