Biography from Auctionata:
Jaime Antonio Colson studied from 1918 to 1924 in Madrid and Barcelona, where he came in close contact with the Spanish artists Rafael Barradas, Salvador Dalí, Maruja Mallo, and Fernando Briones.

During a trip to Paris, the artists Griss, Braque, Picasso, and Leger made a great impact on his work.  Colson lived from 1934 to 1938 in Mexico and got to know Orozco, Siqueiros and Diego Rivera.

The Museo Bellapart in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) honored his work with a large retrospective in 2008.
