Hermann Dischler was born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1866.  He studied at the Art School in Karlsruhe from 1885 to 1894, where he became a master student of Gustav Schönleber.

In the 1890s, he regularly traveled through southern Germany. Especially the Black Forest has drawn his affection.  He lived there for quite some time and portrayed the idyllic landscapes in numerous paintings.  He usually took photographs as a template.

Dischler was chairman of the art (showing 500 of 820 characters).
