This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data
compared to the extensive information about American artists.
Bjarne Eriksen (1882-1970)
He was born in Copenhagen March 30, 1882 to Norwegian parents. He was a bachelor, living with his brother Sigurd and Sigurd's wife Lydia all of his adult life. In later years, Lydia's sister Naimy Bye Brown went to live with them and became caregiver for the group. It was she who closed the studio and liquidated the remainder of their paintings. Eriksen is represented in the National Gallery with the oil painting Augustdag, and in the Stavanger permanent gallery of paintings.
