Charles Muss (a.k.a. Charles Musso)  was born in Newcastle in 1779 and died in England in 1842.  He was a glass and enamel painter, and printmaker/etcher. He was son and pupil of the Italian painter Bonifacio Musso.

From 1802 to 1823, he exhibited at Enamel Exhibitions of the Royal Academy. He worked for kings William III and William IV.   He also painted windows for the church of St. Bride representing the Descent from the Cross by Rubens.
