Lorenz Scharl is best known as porcelain painter and especially for his oil painting. Topics of his oil painting are landscapes, farmhouses, cattle and rural scenes.

Art movement:
Realism influenced by the Munich School

Education and training:
Education and intensive training in the porcelain manufacture “Keramische Fabrik München-Schwaben” 1927-1934, perfecting his art by copying masterpieces in Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus Munich, Neue Pinakothek Munich, Museums in Vienna, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Cassel, Saarbrücken.

Born 1911 in Gelting, Germany, died 1995 in Munich, Germany
1927-1934 Keramische Fabrik München-Schwaben, Germany
1934-1969 public servant at the German Railway. In the spare time and after retirement porcelain painting and oil painting.

Awards or recognition:
Reproduction of paintings in the “Pasinger Archiv”, sponsored by the town of Munich

Museum:
The museum of Markt Schwaben, Germany, currently holds porcelain and drafts of his paintings.
