Born in Paris, France, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts with Falguiere. He exhibited at the Paris Salon. He emigrated to New York state and became active in art circles in New York City. He exhibited at the National Sculpture Society.

Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
Sculptor. Born in Paris, France on Dec. 17, 1873. Crenier was a pupil of Falguiere at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris before coming to the U.S. in 1902. While in San Francisco in 1914-15, he did medallions, architectural decorations, pediments, and figures for the PPIE and the newly constructed city hall. During the 1930s he lived in Mamaroneck, NY and sculpted for the WPA. He died in NYC on Oct. 1, 1948. Member: NY Arch. League; NSS. Exh: Paris Salon, 1897, 1927; Society of French Artists, 1907 (hon. mention); PPIE, 1915. In: Oak Hill (WV) Post Office; Christopher Columbus Memorial (Mamaroneck, NY); MM; Fenimore Cooper Memorial (Scarsdale, NY). WWAA 1936-41; Ben; NY Times, 10-3-1948 (obit).
