 Carl Josef Bauer (1895-1964)
A painter and etcher, he was born in Munich where he also studied art at the Art Academy with Professors Diez and Jank. He exhibited, among many others, at the famous "Glaspalast" (glass palace). For ten years, Bauer served as President of the art association "Allotria".
Many of his etchings are in the Art Deco style (women portraits, nudes), created between 1914 and 1928 and were published by Hanfstaegl, Munich.
