Emile Coriolan Hippolyte Guillemin, was born in Paris in 1841 and died in 1907. He was the son of the painter Emile Marie Auguste Guillemin and studied under him and under Salmson. He started exhibiting at the Paris Salon in 1870 and won an award in 1897.
His bronzes are in many collections including the Montreal and Toul museums. Some of his well known bronzes are cavaliers, conquistadores, the Mandolin Player, an Arab Dancing Girl, the busts of Dante Alighieri and Shakespeare, the Alchemist, the Silver Smith, knights in armor, and Arab horsemen. |
