Called a society portraitist as a pretty young artist, June Harrah did
sculptures of champion dogs and race horses "for the doggy and horsy
set". Sculptress Harrah did sculptures of equestrian nobility
including Seabiscuit, Challedon and Jadaan, the grey stallion ridden by
Rudolph Valentino in the movie, The Son of the Sheik.
She was the daughter of a gentleman rancher who founded the town of
Harrah, Washington. It was said that liked animals better than
