This biography from the Archives of AskART:
|  Primarily a calendar illustrator, Hider was born in England and moved to Canada during his early childhood. For many years he painted the winner's of the King's Plate Race for the Ontario Jockey Club of Toronto. He did several paintings for calendar publication for the Gerlach Barklow Company.
