A Belfast businessman and artist, Frederick Hull was born in Drogheda, County, Louth. In the 1890s he took painting lessons at the Government School
of Art in Belfast.
A member of the Belfast Art Society, he was also
an exhibitor at the Ulster Arts Club and the Royal Hibernian Academy*. The year 1949
was a very successful one for Hull as the Belfast Museum and Art
