Albert Hinrich Hussmann was a German sculptor and painter. After his schooling in Ludingworth and Cuxhaven, Hussmann studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. Soon he specialized in the representation of horse and rider statues and from 1899 regularly had entries in the big Berlin Art Exhibition.

After graduating, Hussmann received a professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts and had a private studio in Berlin. In 1914 Kaiser Wilhelm II gave Hussmann the "Golden Medal for Art" for one of his equestrian statues.

Numerous works of art of Hussmann are life-like animal replicas, mainly sculptures in bronze and porcelain. From 1909 to 1943, he designed sculptures for the porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal in Selb, Bavaria.

Hussmann's life-size bronze sculpture "grazing horse" is in the park of Villa Huegel in Essen.

After the 1944 destruction of his Berlin studio, Hussmann moved around with his wife, Wally. Until his death in 1946 he designed numerous figurines for the resident Fürstenberg porcelain manufacturing plant. The municipality of Furstenberg honored Albert Hinrich Hussmann by naming a place with a small park after him.

Wally Hussmann donated to the design of the Hussmannplatzes the horse statue "whole blood" that had escaped destruction in Berlin.
