| Sheyei Yukie Kotoku was born in Japan in 1890. During the 1920s and early 1930s Kotoku lived in Los Angeles and studied at the School of Illustration & Painting. He also worked in San Francisco and Seattle.
Exhibited: California Liberty Fair, 1918; Exposition Park (Los Angeles), 1920, 1922; California Art Club, 1920-24; San Francisco Art Ass’n, 1921-25; East West Society (San Francisco), 1922; California Watercolor Society, 1923; Painters & Sculptors of Los Angeles, 1924; Laguna Beach Art Ass’n, 1920s.
