This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Having earned a reputation for photo realist New England scenes, Rey Milici continues to do Realism but in 2006, says that for the last seven years he has been softening the edges somewhat and is less concerned about concealing brushstrokes.  While living in Northampton, Massachusetts, he did many neighborhood scenes and landscapes, which he described as being "a little voyeurish", but later, having been influenced by his brother, who loves sailing, focused more on water scenes.  He is very interested in atmospherics---the time of day and light---as well as color and texture.

Editor, "Rey Milici", American Art Collector, May 2006, pp. 136-139
