Born in Dulwich (which was then Kent) on July, 1, 1895, she lived at Sunny Nook, Carson Road, West Dulwich SE27. She attended Dulwich High School and won a scholarship to the Royal Academy where she attended for five years, winning the Silver Medal for portraiture and other prizes. She earned a living by painting commissioned miniature portraits.
In 1930, she went to Kenya where she married Colonel Mason and lived there until his death in 1947. She was joined by her sister Eileen but soon returned to the UK and settled in Guildford.
She died in 1988 at the age of 93.
