| Mary Badger Sydnor Morel (b. Oct.22, 1859-d. March 7, 1924)
A member of the Sydnor Family of Texas, whose ancestor John S. Sydnor (1812-1869) was a merchant and slave trader, born in Virginia, she was one of eight children born to John Barrett Sydnor and Annie Eliza Walker.
She married a man named Octave Morel and lived in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Morel painted in watercolor, romantic human genre scenes and children possibly at times for illustrations and window shades.
Her eldest daughter May Sydnor Morel (d. 1920) was also a painter and craftsperson.
