An Australian painter and engraver, George Pitt Morison was a painter and engraver who was especially noted for a painting, The Foundation of Perth, dated 1829.  In 1929, as part of Western Australia's centenary celebration, the Art Gallery of Western Australia acquired the work, which depicts dignitaries at a commemorative ceremony.

Morison's family was prominent in Australia where Pitt County is named for his ancestors.
