Ezekiel Antonio Pereira ( 1868 - 1943 ), was a Portuguese painter born in Lisbon in the parish of St. Julian on June 15, 1868. He was a disciple of Silva Porto and was the son of the artist embroiderer Antonio Matias Pereira.  He was a student of the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon, and studied with Master Simões de Almeida.

In 1887/88 he enrolled in the courses of general and special landscape painting, soon after the appointment of the great Master Silva Porto, and Ezekiel Pereira soon became a strong landscape painter, with exhibitions in public next to Master Silva Porto, in exhibitions of the Art Guild.

After finishing at the School of Fine Arts in 1894, Ezekiel Pereira headed to Paris, funded by the Earl of Ameal, where he attended the Academie Julian and the studios of Jean Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant. Among his companions were the painters Antonio Tomas Conceicao Silva, Julio Ramos and Eduardo Moura, and the sculptors Antonio Fernandes de Sa, Francisco Gouveia and Augusto Santo .

Returning to Portugal (1896), with Silva Porto and Antonio Ramalho, he collaborated with the decor of the Brewery Jansen and other works. He spent some time in Condeixa and Coimbra , home of the Earls of Ameal and Dr. John Doe, living with their families of these dear friends, until in 1902 he ran for the post of professor of industrial schools, being placed in Ponta Delgada, where he remained until 1905; then was transferred to Faro; and in 1915 to Lisbon - School of Industrial Design Marquis of Pombal - where he remained until reaching the age limit, 15 June 1938, and his Government, in recognition of his merits, conferred the officers of the Order of Merit of Education to the artist and teacher who for forty years, was a prime example of dedication for art and education.

In Guild Art, next to Silva Porto, he was conferred the 3rd Medal of the National Society of Fine Arts, where rarely exposed, was awarded the 1st medal, and at the Great Exhibition of Portuguese Artists, for the three monuments Henry Pousao, Artur Loureiro and explorer Antonio Francisco da Silva Porto, was awarded the Gold Medal.

Individually, Ezekiel Pereira exhibited only once in life, in 1935. His works were again exposed in March 1944, the city of Oporto , with "one hundred Portuguese landscapes" organized by his close friend Dr. Joaquim Madureira, and that was a real success. For the hundredth time the twentieth year of his birth took place in the Gallery Roca - Marinha Grande, a commemorative exhibition, with works from the collection of his only grandson Ezekiel António Pereira.
