An art dealer and amateur artist, David Croal Thomson was director from 1878 to 1896 of Goupil Gallery, which was the London division of the French art dealer firm of Boussod, Valadon & Cie. He had special interest in Dutch Art and the Barbizon School and also was a promoter in England of French Impressionism.
Between 1892 and 1902, he edited the Art Journal and wrote books including The Barbizon School of Painters (1890), Corot (1892) and Th (showing 500 of 836 characters). |
