Biography from a third party submitted on 03/01/2007:
The paint flows from the brushes of Jan Clayton Pagratis and Lori Keith Robinson as they move in a parallel rhythm that is commanded by the collaborative process.

These abstract expressionistic pieces are painted simultaneously and explore the balance of relationships focusing on action and reaction. Marks are made from an emotional response and an aesthetic judgement in a process that constructs and deconstructs the formal composition.

Having worked together for several years, the two artists have developed a close personal relationship and with that a similar artistic vision.  Each mark on the canvas is made with complete trust in that vision and represents a continuum of their relationship. The results are both visually complex and formally complete.

Lori and Jan (Loja) are thrilled to offer this body of work. They feel that through the collaborative process they have created some of their strongest works to date.

Biography from a third party submitted on 03/01/2007:
LOJA is the work of Lori Keith Robinson and Jan Clayton Pagratis, who fuse their styles and palettes into a collaborative body of work that explodes with color and energy.   The artists paint on the same canvas at the same time, allowing the paintings to grow through their shared instincts and distinctive brush strokes.   Each piece is a color-infused interpretation of the Lowcountry, as well as a testament to the working relationship and artistic alignment of the artists.   The name LOJA is a fusion of their two names, reflecting both the collaboration and the creation of a distinct style all its own.
