Educated at the Rutherford College and studied at the King Edward School of Art, Kings College.
While in Newcastle he attended operations at the
Royal Infirmary and made sketches for surgical records, lectures and
text books. He taught at the Carlisle School of Art.
Painting of pictures of animals , especially
horses and dogs and has painted pictures of horses for the Duke and
Duchess of Northumberland and other hunting personalities in the North.
