Raoul Verlet was a French sculptor. He was born at Angoulême on 7 September 1857 and died in Cannes in 1923.
By
age 17 he decided to devote himself to sculpture. He spent two
years at Bordeaux, and came to Paris where he went to art school and
became a student of
Cavalier and especially Barrias. He won a scholarship in his
