Biography from Mark Murray Fine Paintings:
| Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data
compared to the extensive information about American artists.
Georges van den Bos was born in Ghent and studied at the academies there and in Brussels before completing his training in Paris. His subjects include landscapes and figural works and are included in several museum collections including the museum in Ghent.
His best known works are depictions of elegant ladies near the coast and are painted in a style very close to that of his contemporaries Vittorio Matteo Corcos and Frederik Hendrik Kaemmerer. |
