Lapshin Georgiy (George) Alexandrovitch studied in the Art School of Stroganov in Moscow together with ?lexander Shevchenko. In 1906 he studied in France in F. Kormon's studio. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Moscow. Since 1925, he participated in the prestigious exhibitions in France such as the Society of Arts and Salon Independent.
In 1922 he left Russia and traveled in Germany and Italy. In 1924 he moved to Paris. Since then he continually exhibited in the Salon Independent and Salon of the French artists. His subjects included Russian landscapes and also landscapes of Venice, Isle of Capri, Versailles and Paris.
Also he was known as a singer - the tenor, and he frequently took part in concerts and also sang Russian Opera in Paris. He worked in theatre as a decorator and stage designer.
His works of art are stored in the State Tretjakov's Gallery, in the Kazan Art Museum, in private collections.
