John Aslanidis was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1961. He is a graduate of the University of New South Wales (1989) and is a former co-director of Stripp Gallery, an artist-owned-and-run exhibition space in Sydney from 1998-1999. Mr. Aslanidis has received several grants and awards, including a Pollock-Krasner Award for 2004. His work was included in Good Vibrations: A Legacy of Op-Art in Australia, the first major international survey of op-art in Australia at the Heide Museum of Mo (showing 500 of 988 characters). |
