|  Betty Huwae was born in Banten, Indonesia on 16 May 1963. In 1982, she took private art lessons in Indonesia and later studied at the Art Institute for Cinematography.
Huwae is inspired by a mix of colors, shapes, and space and blends those into her own uniquely impressionistic style.
She moved to Kiel Germany in 1993 where she further developed her style of oil painting. Since 1996 she has had exhibitions in Indonesia and throughout Asia. She now resides in Virginia.
