A. L. Tice served as State Artist of Kansas and painted 7 commissioned portraits of U.S. Senator Arthur Capper which hang in public buildings all over Kansas and in Washington, D.C. He painted portraits of many other well-known Kansans, George Washington Carver, Booker T. Washington, and other famous persons, while he taught Painting and Drawing for 22 years at Midland College at Atchison, Kansas. He also was commissioned to paint Stations of the Cross altar works for the Assumpti (showing 500 of 1880 characters). |
