| Herb Alpert was born in Los Angeles, CA on March 31, 1935. Alpert studied at the University of Southern California and played trumpet in the Trojan Marching Band. By 1962 his Tijuana Brass band had become nationally famous. After a career in music, he now devotes his time to his second career as an abstract painter and sculptor.
