Maria Rose (Wimmer) was born 1981 in Havre, Montana. She began formal art training at age 14. After studying art briefly in Europe with painter Michael Copeland, Maria trained at Eastern New Mexico University. She later earned her BA at the University of Montana.
For nearly a decade, Maria has exhibited throughout New Mexico, Montana, and Colorado. In 2006 Maria Rose co-founded The Iandi Art Movement which includes artists from Denver, Chicago, Boston, Richmond and London. Her work often focuses on themes of nature and fantasy. Her paintings, photography and sculptures create feelings of introspection.
Maria’s work is in private collections throughout New Mexico, Montana, Colorado, Canada, Ohio, Minnesota and Wyoming. In addition to her accomplishments as a painter, she is also known for her silhouette compositions done with handmade paper. Maria Rose presently exhibits art in Denver, CO with her husband and fellow Iandi artist E.K. Wimmer.
