Thomas "Tom"  L. Wood was born in Illinois on December 24, 1874.  Wood was a journalist for newspapers in Denver , Colorado in 1910 and Los Angeles from 1920 until his demise on January 23, 1940. 

Exhibited: Cartoonist Club ( Los Angeles ), 1928."

Biography from Heritage Auctions:
Tom Wood came to Disney Studios in 1932 from his position as a Los Angeles daily newspaper artist.  He worked at the Studio as publicity artist, and assumed primary responsibility for the monthly Good Housekeeping page as well as the creation of publicity stills for the theater, until his untimely death in 1940.
