From Quebec, Guy Montpetit is known for whimsical, fantasy inspired high-color field designs with acrylic and gouache. He also has done three-dimensional pieces and mural painting including a commission for Maison Radio Canada in Montreal, a city where he and his artwork benefitted from the one-percent ratio of new public building construction for artwork that would integrate with the architecture.
