A watercolorist of floral still life paintings, he often worked in oils. Mr. Banning was one of the founders of the Blackstone Valley Art Association (Massachusetts) in 1957. Accompanying other artists from the Association, he traveled to the coast and the harbor towns of the North Atlantic to construct his seascapes and harbor view paintings of Rockport and other fishing villages.
He was born in the Netherlands, son of Hermanus and Sietske (VanderSluis) Banning, and (showing 500 of 876 characters). |
