Mr. Fitch is the nephew of the well known block printer, artist, photographer, sculptor William Seltzer Rice. Mr. Fitch's mother Elizabeth was W.S. Rice's sister. The family comes from Manheim, PA originally. Mr. Fitch's career as an artist goes back to 1929 when he won first prize in the graphic art division of the Scholastic Magazine national contest. He was later awarded the James A. Barr scholarship to California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. (showing 500 of 1562 characters). |
