This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Mrs. Grigorov was a friend of our family. The name is Bulgarian, not Russian - and she was German. She and her husband met and married in the Bavarian Alps, around Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the landscapes there formed the basis for much of her work. They emigrated to the US in the 1960s and settled in Cincinnati; much of her painting was done there (and you can see the influence of the Ohio River in some of her works). In the 1980s, she and her husband moved back to Germany, where she continued to paint.

This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Grigorov was born in Germany, and the majority of the scenes she painted were of memories of her life among the Austrian land, mountain, and seaside. The grand majority of her work was done, either while visiting her homeland, or while at home, in Chicago. She had a number of shows throughout the Midwest back in the 1950s through '80s. Most were in Chicago, but also in Alabama and Maryland.
