Biography from Truro Fine Art Studio:
Chuck Rigg received his MFA from George Washington University in Washington, DC in 1994.  His advisers included William Woodward and Arthur Hall Smith.  Rigg also studied with Jack Boul at the Washington Studio School from 1988 to 1991 and at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC from 1988 to 1991.  Rigg received his BA from Cornell University in 1973 and his BS in 1979.  He also attended the University of Virginia from 1973 to 1975.

In addition to painting, Chuck Rigg built a career in interior design and owned a restaurant, Level at the Commons, in Provincetown MA.  Rigg now paints fulltime.

Chuck Rigg's work has been largely representational, dealing with still life, landscape, portrait and figure.  His most recent paintings are inspired by a visit to the Freer and Sackler Galleries in Washington, DC.  Their collections are mostly Middle Eastern and Asian.  The influence can be seen in the use of calligraphy, the use of space as a compositional element, and surface decoration for its own sake.
