Born 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Scandinavian parents (mother from Norway, father from Sweden), he attended the University of Minnesota and after graduation designed in the art department of a packaging company. Johnson moved to New York City and became a free-lance artist there from 1960-62.
He returned to Minneapolis where he continued as a free-lance artist. In 1979, he started up an art gallery in downtown Minneapolis and began marketing art prints then, (showing 500 of 969 characters). |
