Charles Joseph Watelet born 1867-1954 was a Belgian painter of portraits and genre scenes. He received his artistic training at the Academy of Brussels under Jean Portaels and Alfred Stevens.
He painted portraits of many prominent figures. He moved from Maranelle to Uccle in Brussels. Watelet specialized in depicting the female portrait and became famous for his oeuvre. He also painted woman at social scenes as balls, theaters, and restaurants.
