This biography from the Archives of AskART:
A painter of a variety of subjects including scenes from his city of Charleston, South Carolina, surrounding countryside and especially of golf courses including the Augusta, Georgia National Golf Course.

In 1991, he was commissioned to paint the Ocean Course for the 1991 Ryder Cup official prints and posters.

"Gordon’s commissioned work for various PGA events incudes the official prints and posters for the 1991 Ryder Cup at Kiawah Island, the 1995 Ryder Cup at Oak Hill, the PGA Championships at Valhalla (1996 and 2000), Winged Foot (1997), and Sahalee (1998).  He painted for the World Cup of Golf at Kiawah Island (1997) and the PGA Tour Championship at East Lake at Atlanta (1998)."
