Born in Holmes City, Minnesota on August 22, 1873 and died in Lindsborg, Kansas, July, 1943, Lydia Deere was a teacher and a painter who specialized in landscapes and floral still lifes.

Her family moved to McPherson, Kansas in 1880, and she earned a BA from McPherson College.   She moved to Lindsborg and opened a millinery store and then was principal and teacher at the Lane Hart Women's Dormitory in 1907.

She married Professor Emil O. Deere of Lindsborg and earned a BFA (showing 500 of 3324 characters).
