This biography from the Archives of AskART:

Felix Jones (1908-1974) was a Wichita then Denver based artist.  He studied in France and Belgium.  During his career Jones exhibited at the Midwest Artists Exhibition at the Kansas City Art Institute in 1932 to 1933 and again in 1935.  He also had shows in Denver after moving to that city.  Among his commissions were the Central City (Colo.) Opera House and Phillips 66.  In the 1930's Jones was commissioned to paint a series of murals in the Wichita Post Office entitled March of Transportation.  When it was decided that his works were to be replaced with paintings by Ward Lockwood and Richard Haines, they were relocated to the Wichita Municipal Airport in 1936 where they remained on display for many years.

Submitted by Jeff Jeremias Fine Arts.
