Born Lawrence, Kansas, October 29, 1891 and died in Lawrence,
September, 1985, Addie Penny was a painter who specialized in Kansas
scenes. She studied at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and
was a pupil of William Griffith and Maria Benson.
Penny served as the supervisor of drawing in Lawrence schools
1916-17 and lived in Lawrence at 534 Louisiana Street in 1917.
She also worked for the Art Department at Bellingham, WA
