George Peter was born in New York City in 1922 and attended the School
of Industrial Arts. He has had no formal art education other than
periodic life classes. He spent three years in the Army both here and
abroad and accumulated many sketches. Since his discharge from the Army
in 1945 he has been painting seriously. He has attended art courses at
the Brooklyn Museum.
