This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Oakland, CA on Aug. 20, 1915.  Millar studied at California School of Fine Arts and was active in Alaska in the late 1930s where he was influenced by Sydney Laurence.  After serving in the Navy during WWII, he moved to Sacramento and established a commercial art-advertising agency.  He taught painting and juried local shows until his demise there on Aug. 5, 1983.  His paintings are mostly landscapes of northern California.  Exh: Lodi Grape Festival, 1965-77; Santa Cruz Art League, 1969-70; Central Calif. Arts League, 1969-76; Carmichael (CA) Library, 1970; Placerville AA, 1970-72; Calif. State Fair, 1971-72; Stockton Art League, 1972-76.
