Biography from Kingsley Art Auction:
Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data compared to the extensive information about American artists.

Jiang Zhong-Li was born in Tianjin and graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts with oil painting major in 1988.  In 1998, he completed the painting material study class taught by École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts’ Professor Pincas.

In 2002, he graduated from oil painting advanced class of Central Academy of Fine Arts.  Jiang’s artworks were exhibited in 8th, 9th, and 10th National Art Exhibition, 1st Annual Exhibition of Chinese Oil Paintings, 3rd Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition, China Mini Figural Oil Painting Exhibition, and Chinese Ten Fine Art Academy Teachers Artwork Exhibition.

Now Jiang works as the associate professor in Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and a member of Chinese Artists Association.  His artworks and thesis are published in numerous professional publications and booklets and he is the author of The complete training of still life in oil painting.
Jiang’s style will be categorized as figurative painting; however he insists not to simply copy and paste, but depicts an “unknown and distant reality” to express the real-life but fictitious state.
